Recommended daily dosage of Garcinia Cambogia Extract

Every supplement out there, including Garcinia cambogia has an important factor: the proper dosing and the right timing. It plays a crucial part in your diet. To be able to understand it completely, you should know how Garcinia works once it is in your body.

Basically, it’s not that complicated: You take the pill, it dissolves in your body and starts working. However, timing is very important! So lets look at that first.

What is the proper way to take Garcinia Cambogia?

You probably knew this already, but it depends on WHICH BRAND you are taking. Since I am only recommending two brands, I will write about those: Garcinia Cambogia 1000mg and the Garcinia Cambogia Pure.

The proper timing to take Garcinia Cambogia is one pill approximately 30 minutes to 60 minutes before meal. If you are using Garcinia cambogia 1000mg (full review here) then you should take 2 pills a day (one in the morning and one in the evening). And if you are taking the Garcinia PURE better then you should know that this one should be taken 3 times a day! This is why it has more pills in one bottle.

This table breaks it for you better:

Garcinia 1000mg
with Potassium and Calcium

Dosage: 1 pill 30-60 minutes before meal. Take 2 pills a day.

Garcinia Cambogia
Pure

GarcaPure-1

Dosage: 1 pill 30-60 minutes before meal. Take 3 pills a day.

But in any case, make sure you are taking it 30-60min BEFORE you start eating.

This part is important, because Garcinia Extract is water-soluble (easily dissolves in water) and you want it to be dissolved fast and to start working. It’s a pretty fast process in your body, and works better if you have not eaten for couple of hours.

After you take Garcinia, it is important to wait at least 30 minutes before your meal, in order to ensure it has dissolved completely, and the Serotonin levels have risen enough.

This is the ‘by the book’ method, but if you don’t follow the rules strictly, you still shouldn’t be alarmed. Your body will eventually process it and you will feel decrease in your appetite.

Hey, I even heard stories about people taking Garcinia 1 hour after their meal, because it helps them to stop snacking between meals, stops their emotional eating, and that is a good thing!

Now that you know how to do it, let’s look at the “how much” part of it!

What is the recommended daily dosage of Garcinia Cambogia Extract?

If you are using any other brand of this slimming pill, then know this:

The daily dosage of Garcinia varies depending on your current weight and metabolism, but it is always safe to go with the standard dose. The standard recommended dosage is 500-1500 mg of 50% HCA per day, but this could vary a little bit. It is totally safe, for example, if you take 2 pills of 1000 mg Garcinia a day.

Studies have shown that lower dosage – for example if you are taking only one pill a day – might help as appetite suppressants, while larger dosage – taking one pill before each meal – helps with people who are in weight loss programs.

People with high energy levels and activity (people who exercise or eat a lot of carbon-hydrates) might also need more. But in any case if you plan to increase the dose, I would encourage you to ask for your doctors opinion first.

Keep in mind, that after approximately 12 weeks (3 months) of taking the Supplement, it is good to have a break for a week or two. After that, you can begin your cycle again with total confidence.

Should I change my everyday diet?

Unless you are unsatisfied with your current diet, don’t change it. If it is a low-carb diet, you might need more time to have the same benefit, but there is no real proof that it wouldn’t work for you. Generally speaking, there is no point in changing your diet drastically just because of Garcinia Cambogia.

Since you are taking the Garcinia Extract supplement before your meals, and you know how it works, what you should notice is a decrease in appetite. This is the normal reaction and this is how you start loosing weight. You can also focus on preparing or ordering less food, and in this way avoid any temptation of overeating.

And after couple of weeks the benefits of weight-loss should already be visible. Remember, being of ideal weight is not just a matter of aesthetics, it is vital that your inner organs are not covered with fat but rather work normally the way they are intended to. Your body will feel better, you will feel better and be loaded with happiness and energy.

Is there a possibility that Garcinia Cambogia doesn’t work?

Garcinia Cambogia and Weight LossIf you are currently on a low-carb diet, then Garcinia Extract might take a little more time to show all its benefits, but it should eventually work without problems. This happens because HCA works in a way that it stops creation of fatty cells from carbohydrates. If your carbohydrates intake is less than usual, the time-frame of your diet could be expanded a little bit.

What’s the most important is not to lose faith immediately, rather be patient and keep on with the supplement. You can also check the following post I wrote: what to do if Garcinia Cambogia doesn’t work.

If you are unsure what contains carbs, here is a short list of food that is known to contain a lot:

  • all types of bread, bagel, etc
  • any kind of pasta
  • potatoes
  • corns.

Many other things of course, but these food are on the very top of the list.

You should also know that soft drinks are high in carbohydrates, the amount of sugar in any soft drink is very high on the list.

Carbohydrates are very popular since they are an immediate source of energy. However taking more carbs into your body then needed easily leads to extra weight: it is “stored” in your body in form of fat.

Bottom line. If you don’t eat a lot of carbs, you still can benefit from this supplement. It just might take a little longer.

This product is fiaatstnc. I’ve tried many diets and weight loss products but none of them worked as per my expectation. My friend recommended this product because he lost quite a few pounds with it, so even I bought one bottle & results after 1 month were amazing. I actually lost weight more than I expected. I don’t follow any strict diet or exercise. I am extremely happy and recommend it to all of those who wants to loose weight.

    Zoya,

you have to consult your doctor before taking Garcinia, I think it is NOT recommended for persons under the age of 18.

    Hope this helps.

I have been taking it for 2 weeks now without any weight loss and am frustrated. I weigh 235 and have been taking 2 capsules/day before meals. I don’t eat hardly anything at all mostly 1 real meal/day and a couple snacks. I also drink a couple alcoholic beverages daily. Cold this be my downfall? Should I increase my dose? I also drink plenty of water.

Reply
    Stephen Miller - July 30, 2013

Debbie, it might be the alcohol especially if you are not doing any exercise at all. I will be writing about alcohol soon too, however until then, maybe the best thing to do would be to consult your doctor.
And yes, drinking plenty of water is always good, and super important.
    Stay well.

you need to EAT to lose weight…many people are under the misconception that eating nothing will make them lose weight..this is false…i also have this problem…cut the alcohol out of your daily diet and eat real food…youre wasting calories on beverages that have zero nutritional value to you…

Debbie,
You might want to also consider eating AT least 1000 calories PER day, as to not make your metabolism shut down. If you do not eat Enough…your body will think you are in starvation/survival mode. You must give the herb something to work WITH. It cannot help your metabolism if it is shut down! Also, it cannot work on breaking down foods properly if you do NOT eat. I have been in the health and wellness business for many years, and this are just few tips that I would recommend. Good luck! :)

Hello.. I am a mother of three and my current weight is 163 lb. I have just purchased Garcinia Cambogia from a website called naturalgarciniacambogia.net but I am very confused about the right dosage.
The problem is that it does not say how many mg in the bottle.. the website says 1000 mg. But under the label it says Garcinia Viv blend is 600 mg.. now with the other ingredients on it (Calcium, Chromiun and Potassium plus other ingredients) it might reach the 1000 mg. Now the question is how much is the right dosage for me considering my life as a busy stay at home mom..a few bike rides a week but no gym..just keeping busy with my 3 little children.

Right now I started with 2 capsules a day..(according to the bottle suggested use).. But I have no idea when do I need to take them.. before meals?..after meals?. it doesn’t says!!.. THANKS for your HELP!!!

Hi,
I am 22 years old and weigh 154lbs. I have been taking the Garcinia Combogia pill twice daily, 1 before breakfast and 1 before lunch.
I exercise regularly and have made small changes to my diet.
I’m 3 weeks in and have not lost any weight.
Can someone please tell me why? Am I taking the correct dosage?
Thank you in advance

Hi Carmen – I looked at the site and clicked on the link at the bottom so see the label – and I think you should return that product and find something else that has no fillers or extra ingredients besides the Garcinia Cambogia and perhaps Potassium (I heard Calcium may be okay, too – though I’ve heard it fights absorption). There should be nothing else in there. Just my opinion.

What is more important? taking it on an empty stomach or before hi-carb meals?
For empty stomach I can take it first thing in the morning, but the food that I eat for a few hours after that is quite lo-carb. So what would be the point?
My real downfall is -late suppertime and evening snacking. So I assume that I need the two doses before and after supper?
Are we supposed to keep our blood stream with a high dose of garcinia throughout the day no matter what we eat? or more at hi-carb times?
Also, hats off to you if you know exactly when you will be eating your next meal; I dont really think about it. So how can we plan the dose exactly 30 minutes before? What if I estimate and take a dose, and then end up eating 2 hours after the dose? has it worn off, hence a need to take another pill with the meal?
thanks in advance for your help

Debbie you also need to eat more small meals each day. Eating 1 meal a day puts your body into starvation mode and makes you store fat! Eat up…please! Eating more small meals keeps your metabolism burning.

Hey,

I bought my pills from GNC and at the back of the bottle it is written
Each capsule contains Garcinua Cambogia Fruit Extarct 500mg
Other ingredients: cellulose, stearic acid, vegetable cellulose capsule, silicon dioxide
Are these the right ingredients?? The product is simply called garcinia cambogia but the packaging looks different than the picture from this website it is just a GNC packaging.
Please. Reply to me ASAP
Also it’s my first week I dunno why but I kind of have gained a kilo is this normal?? What can I do to get maximum results I’m not overweight I’m 58kg even tho I’m 59 now but I jus need to reach 54kgs

Sara, well, what our favorite doctor said was to find the one with no additional ingredients. That being said, what you mentioned here doesn’t sound alarming these are all supposedly safe ingredients.

I always recommend the one without anything else just the garcinia + veggie capsule.

Hope the one you bought works for you, let us know of your progress.

Hi, I bought some GC on Amazon a few months ago, I am 30, 5’4, weighing 155, I would like to get down to about 135 but seem to be stuck at a plataue, I bought GC hoping it would help get me unstuck. I have 3 small children, I run 3-4 miles about 3-4 times a week or sometimes run twice and do weights or some other activity. We eat organic, clean and healthy balanced meals. My question is that my product has a Satiety dosage of 1 capsule 3 times a day….seeing as I am relatively active this is what i have been taking with no results. There is a weight-loss dosage of 3 capsules 3 times a day but that seems a bit much? Could you please tell me how much I should be taking? The pills I have are 500 mg capsules with no extra fillers.

Hi
I bought GC online of Nutrigold brand. It says 1 cap contains 500 mg and recommended dosage is 1500 to 3000 mg per day but not more than that.
I started taking it from 1st oct, 2 caps before 1 hr of meal 3 times a day. I have not made any changes to my diet and I do not work out.
I do not see any change in my weight. It has been almost 45 days now.

I am wondering is there anything that I am doing wrong…Dosage wise? Please advise. I will, however, continue with the remaining 45 days of capsules left.

You could probably try taking them with your garcinia. Since they have different role in your body, it’s a good way not to forget to take both pills. So, one pill a dose, and if you take 3 pills of Garcinia (breakfats, lunch and dinner) and Cleanse says to take only two, then do it in the morning and in the evening.

are you taking them at least 30 minutes before meals? Do they make you eat less?

Also, there are different brands of Garcinia and unfortunately, some brands do seem to wokr slower, or not at tall.

For some people, though, it takes at least 2-3 weeks to see even the slightest results. Keep it up!

I just bought three botol of Dynamic Garcini Cambogia Juice Blend. Heard that liquid is more effective. the label mentioned to consume 3 cups perday for fat burns. But per cups is around 1500mg. is that too much?

Reply
    Stephen - April 2, 2015

    Hi Jaynie,

I wouldn’t know about this brand, what you need to do is check the percentage of HCA in it, and calculate it out for yourself.

For example, if it is 60% HCA then I think 1500mg is too much, what I would recommend is to take 400-1200mg daily. And not per cups.

So I can imagine your brand has less HCA % which means you need to take more, but check it out first and then decide.

    Hope this helps
